GadgetGone.com Review
Summary
In this review, we look at GadgetGone, a site that buys back iPhones only. It is a well-reviewed site with a good track record and is a good option for selling a used iPhone. While customer service options are limited, their payouts are high and have a quick turnaround time.
About GadgetGone
Started just two years ago in 2016, GadgetGone is an iPhone buyback company based in Oviedo, FL.
They have little press and few Facebook likes, but are remarkable for their B+ on Better Business Bureau with 41 Positive Reviews, 1 Negative Review and only 4 customer complaints in their 2 years of business. In the device buyback world, that’s a sterling reputation.
Let’s take a closer look.
Here’s The Nitty-Gritty
What Devices Do They Buy?
Another relatively unique feature of GadgetGone.com is that they only deal in iPhones. No other Apple products, no other smart phones, just iPhones.
They’ll give you a quote for an iPhone 4 up through iPhone X, so most iPhones that are floating around today. (Any earlier model and you’re out of luck, though, I’m afraid.)
The Quoting Process
The quoting process is very easy and closely resembles many similar websites.
You simply select different options to properly describe your phone and, bing bang boom, you’ve got a quote.
Shipping Options
GadgetGone.com will give you a free shipping label to send your iPhone to them.
No free box, but hey, you can’t have it all, am I right?
Payout Options
GadgetGone offers a fair number of payment options. Payments are sent via check, eCheck, or PayPal.
Cool! No flies on that.
Customer Service
So, their customer service options are fairly limited, but, again they seem to get fairly good reviews for the service they do offer. They have a couple different online contact forms, an email address, and a FAQs page.
It’s not the most robust set of options for getting in touch if something goes awry, so that may be something to keep in mind in deciding who to use.
Additional Benefits & Features
Well, there aren’t a lot of neat promotions or anything like that associated with GadgetGone.com, but they do offer a pretty quick turnaround on payments.
That’s good. And, if they re-quote you for some reason, they do offer you 2 weeks to reject or accept the offer and, if you reject it, will ship your phone back to you for free. That’s nice!
How Do The Payouts Compare?
Great news, friends. Their quotes for used iPhones are above average. Prices are always changing, but GadgetGone regularly beats sites like Gazelle and Usell. That’s really nice! Since they only do iPhones, I check a few different models and, in all cases the amount they quoted was good.
And One More Thing
The only consistent complaint about GadgetGone seems to be their lack of phone number, but otherwise people seem to be happy with their service. If you have a problem with them, it seems like the way to get them (once you’ve exhausted the normal routes) would be via BBB or Facebook and they’ll almost definitely respond.
In Conclusion
Not to sound to excited, but this seems like a great site! They offer high, fast payouts and have a good track record of offering a solid service. Is it too good to be true? Who knows, but it seems like if you’re thinking about selling your old iPhone, this could definitely be the way to go.
Just tried to use Gadgetgone. I sent them a flawless iPhone 6, the informed me it was bent so they could only give me salvage. The phone WAS NOT bent, I repete , it WAS NOT bent, when I sent it to them and I sent it to them in the Apple box to insure no shipping damage. When I refused the salvage offer, I got my phone back, and THEY BENT IT. I couldn’t believe it, but they bent it.Sad, very sad business. It’s just scam. I’m a 69 year old man, I don’t need to lie about it.
I want to order a new iPhone, but need to sell my old one. Got on gadgetgone and got mailing label. My problem: the new phone won’t arrive until the 10th of October! I wonder how long they keep the offer they quoted. If I had 30 days it would work. No response from Support.
A question arose during my transaction for 2 iPhones – The company owner himself took note, intervened, and resolved the issue and answered all questions to my complete satisfaction. This is business done the way it should be. Thank you.
